Milford Drawn With Sekhukhune In The Nedbank Cup Quarter Finals

Milford FC, leaders of the Motsepe Foundation Championship, have been drawn against Betway Premiership side Sekhukhune United in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals.

The draw was conducted at the SuperSport studios on Monday following the completion of the round of 16 fixtures this past weekend.

Milford booked their place in the last eight with a convincing 3-0 victory over Mkhambathi FC at the uMhlathuze Sports Complex on Sunday. On the same day, Sekhukhune edged University of Pretoria F.C. 1-0 at Tuks Stadium to secure their quarter-final spot.

Milford centre-back Phakamani Ngxongo acknowledged the challenge ahead but believes the pressure will be on their top-flight opponents.

“I think it will be tough for us against Sekhukhune United,” said Ngxongo.

“But they are under pressure because they play at a higher level than us. We will play our game, and since the match is away from home, I believe there is a lot we can learn — especially from a side that competes in the top flight.”

The Nedbank Cup quarter-final matches are scheduled for 7 and 8 March, with venues to be confirmed by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) following consultations with the clubs.
