Milford may be battling for promotion to the PSL top flight, but the club is also investing in the future by scouting emerging talent.
The team was among the attendees at a tournament held in Ngqeleni, in the Eastern Cape, over the weekend. The event was the Mgudlwa Attorneys Tournament.
The tournament took place just before Milford strengthened their second position in the Motsepe Foundation Championship standings, following a 2–1 victory over The Bees at Umhlathuze Sports Complex on Sunday.
After 28 matches, Milford sit second on the table with 50 points. Kruger United have already secured promotion to the top flight, having beaten Black Leopards over the weekend to move to 58 points.
Milford, on 50 points, are closely followed by third-placed Cape Town City on 48 points, who are level with fourth-placed Hungry Lions.
Teams that finish second and third in the Motsepe Foundation Championship will enter the promotion/relegation playoffs, where they face the side that finishes 15th in the Betway Premiership.
Milford’s final two fixtures are against the University of Pretoria on Sunday, followed by an away match against Hungry Lions on 17 May.
