Milford FC have secured a place in the PSL Promotion Playoffs after playing to a goalless draw against Hungry Lions FC in the final match of the 2025/26 season at the Mxolisi Dicky Jacobs Stadium on Sunday.
Milford, who enjoyed an impressive run to the semifinals of the Nedbank Cup earlier this season, only needed a draw to secure their playoff spot — and they managed to get the result they needed.
As is tradition in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, all final-round fixtures were played simultaneously to ensure fairness and prevent any team from gaining an unfair advantage.
Milford ended the season in third place on the table with 54 points from 30 matches. Cape Town City FC claimed second place after securing a 4-2 victory over Leruma United in Soweto.
Both Cape Town City and Milford will now compete in the PSL promotion and relegation playoffs alongside the team that finishes 15th in the Betway Premiership standings.
The Betway Premiership season is set to conclude next weekend, when the final playoff participant will be confirmed.
The winner of the playoffs will secure a place in next season’s Betway Premiership, while the remaining two teams will compete in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, joining Kruger United, who were promoted after winning the Motsepe Foundation Championship title.
