KZN Sport Department Urges Fans To Fill Stadium For Milford’s Playoffs

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport has urged football supporters to rally behind Milford as they host Magesi FC in a crucial PSL promotion/relegation playoff clash.

Milford will take on the Limpopo-based side at the Umhlathuze Sports Complex on Wednesday [15:00], with both teams having won their opening matches in the mini-league.

Xanti Pupuma’s side, who finished third in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, began their playoff campaign with a 1-0 victory over Cape Town City at Athlone Stadium.

Magesi, who entered the playoffs after finishing in 15th place in the Betway Premiership last season, also defeated City, winning 2-0 at Seshego Stadium this past weekend to move to the top of the standings.

As a result, Wednesday’s encounter will see the two unbeaten sides battle for top spot in the mini-league.

It is for this reason that the KZN Department of Sport has called on supporters to fill the Richards Bay venue and create a hostile atmosphere for the visitors from Limpopo.

The winner of the mini-league will secure a place in next season’s Betway Premiership.

“On Tuesday, we were on the ground reminding people that we should support Milford by filling the stadium,” the department said.

“Let’s paint the stands, bring the noise, and push our boys over the line.”

Entrance to the match is free.
